In 10 seconds: the key takeaways.
What to expect – no detours.
- It’s not your metabolism holding you back – muscle loss and a less active everyday life are.
- Relative trainability is comparable to men’s – in upper-body strength even in your favor.
- According to current evidence, the menstrual cycle has no reliably proven effect on strength or adaptation.
- After menopause strength gains are preserved; visible muscle building often needs more volume.
- Heavy, impact-type training strengthens your bone density instead of endangering it.

Assumption vs. evidence: what really applies to you.
| Topic | Common assumption | What the evidence shows |
|---|---|---|
| Relative trainability | Women build muscle more slowly than men | Comparable – in upper-body strength even slightly in your favor |
| Bone density | Heavy training is risky for bones | Heavy, impact-type loading measurably improves bone density |
| Muscle building after menopause | Responds just like before to the same training | With the same strength response, often needs more training volume |
| And 2 more differences – in the guidebook | ||

“Not a pink-tinted copy of a men’s guide.”
Much sports science was done with and for men. That is why this book takes its own stock – and where the data is thin, we say so.

Honestly: not for everyone.
This fits you if …
- You want training based on research on women – not on a renamed men’s edition.
- You are in or past menopause and want to know what that means for volume and intensity.
- You want to check myths about cycle, age and “strength training for women” against sources.
Probably not for you if …
- You need medical advice on hormones or menopause. The guidebook does not replace it.
- You expect quick miracles. Muscle building takes volume, patience and consistency.
- You want a program without strength training.
Questions about this guidebook.
Is this the men’s edition in different colors?
No. Guidebook No. 4 is a standalone book with its own stocktaking: what happens after 40, what differs between men and women, and what surprisingly stays the same.
Does the menstrual cycle matter?
According to current evidence, the cycle has no reliably proven effect on strength performance or training adaptation. The guidebook shows how to train by your daily form instead.
When does Guidebook No. 4 come out?
The guidebook is being finalized. Follow us on Instagram so you don’t miss the launch.
What about the rest of the series?
Guidebook No. 3 (muscle building for men) is available, No. 1 and 2 (weight loss) are planned.
Important: the guidebook is not a substitute for medical advice. Talk to your doctor before starting, especially with pre-existing conditions. You perform all exercises at your own risk – stop immediately if you feel pain, dizziness or shortness of breath.
